INSTRUCTIONS |
Burger Patty:
-
Meat patties: In a large size mixing bowl, add ground meat, Kam Heong sauce, breadcrumbs, salt and egg. Mix together by hand until the meat mixture is smooth, stop once the mixture looks even. (over mixing can make it dense).
Meatless/plant based patties: In a large mixing bowl or food processor add in bean mix, kam heong sauce, salt, breadcrumb, mushroom, cabbage, green onion, carrot and flax egg. Mash or pulse in food processor until smooth and well mixed.
-
Press the mixture down in the bowl, evenly divide into an even disk into 4 parts. Use a knife to cut and divide the patty mixture into 4 thick patties or 6 thin griddle patties.
-
Set out a baking sheet, lined with wax paper or foil, to hold the patties. Gather the patty mix into a ball and press firmly into patties. Shape them just slightly larger than the buns that will be used, to account for shrinkage during cooking. Set the patties on the baking sheet. Use a spoon to press a dent in the centre of each patty. Chill patties before use.
- Heat the grill or skillet up and cook the patties.
For thick patties: Grill or fry the patties for 3-4 minutes per side. For thin patties: Cook on the griddle for 2 minutes per side.
-
Stack the hot patties on hamburgers buns, and top with your favourite burgers toppings.
Spicy Aioli:
- In a small bowl add in Bun Bo Hue, mayonaise and lemon juice.
- Mix together ingredients and serve with fries or use to top you burger with it.
- Store in fridge in a squeeze bottle or container.
